Washington D.C. (May 27, 2016) —During Uniting for Health Innovation’s Board meeting on April 22, 2016, Mr. Eduardo Pisani was unanimously elected, along with Dr. Esteban López, to serve on the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
“We are ecstatic to have Eduardo Pisani join our Board,” Uniting for Health Innovation President & CEO, Dr. Jennie Ward-Robinson, said, “His extensive background in the pharmaceutical industry, international policy and government affairs adds to Uniting for Health Innovation’s already diverse Board.”
Mr. Pisani has served as the Director General for the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA) for over six years. In his current role Mr. Pisani leads the dialogue between research-based pharmaceutical companies and associations with the United Nations specialized agencies, and other international organizations and global health stakeholders.
Prior to IFPMA, Mr. Pisani was with Bristol-Myers Squibb for eight years, rising to the role of Vice President of International Policy and Government Affairs. With his Doctorate of Law from the University of Catania, he has also held several Corporate Counsel jobs at top pharmaceutical companies and has contributed to the development of policy and access initiatives in different disease areas.
In addition to serving on Uniting for Health Innovation’s Board, Mr. Pisani is a member of the Board of the Pharmaceutical Security Institute (PSI) and is a standing observer for the Management Committee of the International Council for Harmonization of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH).
Mr. Pisani was first introduced to the Foundation last year when IFPMA became an integral partner on the women’s cancer initiative, a project that strengthens prevention and control of women’s cancer in Latin America and the Caribbean.
“Working with Mr. Pisani over the past year on the women’s cancer initiative has showed me his dedication and passion for making a true difference in the health and lives of the people in our region,” Dr. Jennie Ward-Robinson said, “He is the perfect fit for our organization and we are lucky to have someone as enthusiastic about our mission as he is.”
