    Uniting for Health Innovation Participates in the World Health Assembly 69

    Washington D.C. (July 7, 2016) — By the invitation of our valued new trustee, Eduardo Pisani, Uniting for Health Innovation President and CEO, Dr. Ward-Robinson, served as a panelist during a World Health Assembly 69 (WHA69) satellite-event hosted by the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers & Associations (IFPMA).

    This event took place on the evening of May 23, 2016 and consisted of both a panel discussion titled “Zika & Ebola: How global health threats prompt innovation” and a proceeding cocktail party.

    Uniting for Health Innovation Elects Dr. Esteban López to the Board of Trustees

    Washington D.C. (June 2, 2016) — During Uniting for Health Innovation’s Board meeting on April 22, 2016, Dr. Esteban López was unanimously elected, along with Mr. Eduardo Pisani, to serve on the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

    “I continue to be humbled and deeply grateful for the remarkable Board members at Uniting for Health Innovation that dedicate such time and resources to ensure our mission is successful,” Uniting for Health Innovation President & CEO Dr. Jennie Ward-Robinson said, ”Dr. López is an exceptional addition to the Board, and we are fortunate to have him, along with his in-depth knowledge of health systems, join our team.”

    Uniting for Health Innovation Appoints Eduardo Pisani to the Board of Trustees

    Washington D.C. (May 27, 2016) —During Uniting for Health Innovation’s Board meeting on April 22, 2016, Mr. Eduardo Pisani was unanimously elected, along with Dr. Esteban López, to serve on the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

    Reducing High Rates of Women’s Cancers in the English Caribbean: Uniting for Health Innovation Sponsored Convening

    Washington D.C. (May 27, 2016) — In collaboration with the Pan American Health Organization, the University of Miami and the Breast Cancer Initiative 2.5, Uniting for Health Innovation co-hosted a regional forum on May 11-May 12, 2016,  to convene thought leaders and stakeholders to improve the effectiveness of women’s cancer programs in the English Caribbean.

    By defining strategies and areas for support, and identifying potential partnership areas with key stakeholders and the international public health community, stakeholders and partners will be able to create stronger, more sustainable women’s cancer programs in the region.

    Uniting for Health Innovation Hosts a Pre-Summit Planning Meeting on AMR

(April 14, 2016) –  From February 28 to March 1, 2016, Uniting for Health Innovation brought together representatives from the Foundation, the Pan American Health Organization, academia, business, health, philanthropy and entities interested in global surveillance and planning for a future multi-sectoral summit on anitimicrobial resistance (AMR).

This week, starting on Monday and into Sunday, the American Public Health Association (APHA) strives to raise ‪awareness for current public health issues and the crucial ‪role public health plays in America. The National Public Health Week 2016 campaign held a Twitter chat today, April 6, 2016, at 2 pm EST time, in which they asked questions via twitter and encourage followers to respond using the hashtag, #NPHWchat.

    Uniting for Health Innovation Board Member Inducted into the Alameda County Women’s Hall of Fame

    Washington D.C. (March 30, 2016) – Uniting for Health Innovation congratulates Board Member Victoria Jones on her induction into the Alameda County Women’s Hall of Fame. On Saturday March 19, 2016, Ms. Jones and 12 other exceptional, local Alameda County women were inducted into the Hall of Fame at the 23rd Anniversary Luncheon and Awards Ceremony in Oakland, California.

    Every year in March the event, hosted by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors and the Alameda County Commission on the Status of Women, honors local women who have made impactful contributions to the surrounding community.

    A PAHO FOUNDATION PERSPECTIVE: WATER, SANITATION AND ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANCE

    Washington D.C. (March 29, 2016) –The UK’s Review on Antimicrobial Resistance, tasked by Prime Minister David Cameron “to analyze this global problem of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and propose concrete actions to tackle it internationally,” released its latest interim report on March 21, 2016. The report entitled “Infection Prevention, Control and Surveillance: Limiting the Development and Spread of Drug Resistance,” demonstrates that clearly identifying the control of infectious disease as a key principle in reducing AMR, is groundbreaking.

    Uniting for Health Innovation Hosts End of Year Meetings of Trustees

    Washington, D.C. (December 22, 2015) – Uniting for Health Innovation’s Technical Advisory Group (FTAG) and Board of Trustees met in Washington D.C.  December 3-4 2015, to review 2015 accomplishments and adopt the plan and budget for 2016.

    The Board of Trustees also recognized the service of two out-going members Harold Hamana, Director, Knight & Pawn and David Aiken, Principal (Partner), VentureCount, LLC and welcomed new Trustees Mark Moore, Co-Founder, Mark and Brenda Moore Family Foundation and Joel Dziengielewski, Director, Navigant.
