Call to Action for World Water Day

Call to Action for World Water Day

Worldwide (March 22, 2017) – This World Water Day (WWD), Uniting for Health Innovation brings attention to the many health impacts of lacking access to clean, safe drinking water and invites partnership collaboration for a WWD ‘Call to Action.’ Throughout Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), around 36 million people live without access to sanitary water, mostly due to poverty-related factors1.

LAC has witnessed huge strides because of collective action and investment from local and national governments. Twenty years ago, more than 65 million LAC inhabitants were living without a safe water supply. Compared to today’s statistic, much progress has been made in the region, but there is still work to be done.
